Metadata Management
MatchPoint Snow uses a metadata model that leverages the functionality of MatchPoint tags. There are 3 categories of tags:
- System
- Governance
- Business Topic
The root tags for these 3 tag categories are imported by a MatchPoint StaticTagImporter timer job (MPSnow.Tags.Static.xml). The following sections of this chapter describe how the child tags of system, governance and business topic tags are imported and managed.
For information on how to import the tags into a MatchPoint tagging service application, please refer to the MatchPoint Technical Reference document. For specific information regarding the import of tags for MatchPoint Snow, please refer to the Installation Guide.
System Tags
The system tags category contains an auto-generated structure of tags that cannot be modified.
Examples: the root tags of workspaces, meetings and snowflakes.
Tags are imported by a MatchPoint TagImporter timer job,
MPSnow.Tags.System.xml
.
Governance Tags
The governance tags category contains a static structure of tags that cannot be modified.
Examples: classification, approval, review, status, decommissioning, targeting and priority.
Tags are imported by the same MatchPoint StaticTagImporter timer job as
the root tags, MPSnow.Tags.Static.xml
.
Business Topic Tags
The business topic tags category contains a tag structure that can be managed within various SharePoint lists on the MatchPoint Snow "Admin" site.
Examples: organization, location, relation, product, process and document type.
Tags are imported by a MatchPoint TagImporter timer job,
MPSnow.Tags.BusinessTopic.xml
.
The business topic tags are managed within various lists on the "Admin
site". These lists are created by the feature
Colygon.MatchPoint.Snow.Metadata
and therefore are available only if the
feature is enabled on the site. Each list allows selecting the parent
element from the level above.
The following sections of this chapter provide an overview on the different lists.
