Search-based SharePoint Site Directory

Date: 29.08.2012

SharePoint Sites are a crucial ingredient in your information architecture. Unfortunately, they are not part of the index, which means that a user cannot find sites by using SharePoint Search. You need to provide a separate Site Directory instead.

With MatchPoint, you can index SharePoint Sites and Site Collections and display them like any other search result. You can even apply metadata to them like on normal SharePoint content. For the user this means that sites can be found using search. For the developer and the administrator, no separate site directory is needed anymore.

And with the metadata-based navigation and breadcrumb web parts, you can even display logical site hierarchies to browse - independently of the physical site structure.
