MatchPoint Version 4.0.5 Released
Date: 22. Sep 2014
MatchPoint version 4.0.5 has been released recently and is available for partners in the download section. This version contains new features and changes along with bug fixes. A complete list of all changes can be found within the release notes document.
This post provides a quick overview of the most important changes in MatchPoint 4.0.5
New Web Part: Composite Refinement Web Part
This new Web Part provides functionality to filter the result set of another web part. Tags and other metadata from the result set of the dependent web part (e.g. a MatchPoint Data Grid or Composite Web Part) is displayed and values can be selected to refine the search result.
In contrast to the normal Refinement Web Part the Composite Refinement Web Part provides a high flexibility in how refinement groups are rendered.
We have published a separate blog post which describes the Composite Refinement Web Part in detail and provides an example in how to use it.
Support refinement of Chart Web Part
The Chart Web Part is now refinable. If you want to use this new functionality you have to uncheck the option "LegacyConnectionDataMode" (which is needed due to backwards compatibility) in the ChartWebPartConfiguration.
Improved support for SharePoint Enterprise Keywords
The support for Enterprise Keywords has been improved, they are now refinable and can be used within the MatchPoint Web Parts.
Data Grid Web Part: Various enhancements
For the Data Grid Web Part the exception handling was improved. For example will an initial exception not stop the Data Grid Web Part from working. Additionally the exceptions are now handled within the DataGrid and the user is not automatically redirected to a separate error page. Also groups are now sortable.
Improved native refinement support
The native refinement now has a better support for the refinement of numbers and number ranges. Also the error handling was enhanced.
