Basics: How to use SharePoint Termstore Terms in MatchPoint

The managed metadata service from SharePoint and MatchPoint work together seemlessly. In this post i would like to show you how you can use SharePoint Terms in MatchPoint Web Parts and illustrate the additional benefits that come with MatchPoint like the Termstore importer and synchronization for single or multi language szenarios.

1. Decide if you want to import and synchronize SharePoint Terms to the term store using MatchPoint

Import your Meta Data to the Termstore. You can either do it the SharePoint way or use MatchPoint Timerjobs to import and synchronize Terms in the Term Store. This is very easy. If you decide to use an existing Model or to create your termsets manually you can directly to to Step xx

2. Create a SharePoint list

Create a custom SharePoint list as a source for your metadata. SharePoint List as a base for term import to managed metadata service

Note: An sql database would work the same way as a source for your Term importer.

3. Create a MatchPoint Timer Job in the MatchPoint instance administration
