Usage of the Demo Environment
The demo environment for MatchPoint Snow is provided as a VMware virtual machine. Running the VM requires either VMware Workstation 9.0 (or higher) or VMware Player 6.0 (or higher).
For more information, please refer to http://www.vmware.com.
Environment Specification
In order to enable an easy setup for the demo environment, the virtual machine contains a standalone installation that includes all software components required to run MatchPoint Snow. The environment is installed with the following components:
- Windows Server 2012 Standard
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Standard
- Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Enterprise, including prerequisite components (IIS etc.)
- AD DS role, incl. service accounts and domain servers within the role
The VM is configured for network access. MatchPoint does not require this. However, some Microsoft Components (i.e. Windows Update) may require internet access in order to work properly.
Please note that this demo setup does not represent a 'best practice' installation to productive use and some adjustments had to be implemented. For instance, the installation of an AD controller on the same machine running Microsoft SQL Server is not recommended for a productive setup. All software within the VM is provided for testing and demo purposes only. Usage of the VM for any productive application is prohibited.
System Requirements
SharePoint 2013 has significant requirements regarding the performance of the server system. The MatchPoint Snow demo environment was configured to allow for a portable setup. However, it is still recommended to provide sufficient resources to ensure optimal performance of the system. The following configuration was used for running the virtual machine:
- CPU: 4 virtual cores
- RAM: 16 GB
- Disk space: 60 GB
It is recommended to use a similar or better configuration in order to ensure an acceptable performance.
The virtual machine requires a 64 bit host system. Also, please note that continuous crawling is enabled on the SharePoint environment. It is recommended to disable continuous crawling if the VM is used in a setup with less than 4 virtual cores and 16 GB RAM.
Local Login and Demo Users
Once the machine is started, please use the following credentials to log in:
User Name | Description | Password |
